Prolific, prolific, you said prolific?
Some sites can present some fabulous varieties of minerals: that's sure.
But with forms, you have some surprises.
Have a look in Belgium ...

Hi Elmar,
Looks like you had a good time in Montigny!
On the very same day I was 5 km down the road in Landelies quarry.
I took some nice Calcite crystals back to Holland.
The quarry is famous for extremely beautiful calcite crystals, to me they are world class.
The guys from 4M can be found in the quarry everey weekend, and wow, they've got a Calcite collection that rivals any in the world, top pieces from Landelies and the former quarry of Mont-sur-Marchienne, also just 4 km from Montigny... lucky basterds
Attached is a pic of a nice Landelies twin. Cheers - Harjo"
Yes indeed, the guys of 4M are specially occupied to study all the "prolific " forms of calcite in only one quarry.
Really fantastic. A new release of their conclusions will be printed soon.
Your best contact for the study is Michel Croisez, eng., who comes regularly in Cremona.
In order to have an idea and to appreciate some samples of the prolific belgian calcites of Landelies, have a look on the website of Mr Jean-Marie Jonville: www.calcite.be
If you are a pro, check your memory

Prolific is not so easy... Yes ?
