Abstract:
The mechanism of the formation of solid solutions of titanium bridgmanite in the MgSiO3–MgTiO3 system was tested by the method of atomistic modeling. The data obtained were compared with the experimental results. It was shown that the titanium isomorphic capacity of bridgmanite under the P–T parameters of the cold subduction zone is systematically higher than that for the conditions of the mantle geotherm and noticeably increases with depth.
