Abstract:
In the Pd–Bi–Se system, the only known mineral containing all three elements is padmaite PdBiSe. Three compounds with different element ratios have been found in the ores at the Chudnoe deposit: padmaite, the Pd6BiSe phase, and a phase similar to Pd3Bi2Se2. Pd–Bi selenides are intergrown with native gold and confined to veins of Cr-bearing muscovite (fuchsite) in rhyolites. The Pd6BiSe phase is subjected to replacement by Pd oxides.
