Abstract:
In moraine deposits of the Darai-Piyoz glacier at the Darai-Piyoz alkaline massif (southern slope of Alai Range, Tajikistan), lumps of a specific quartz rock (silexite) with polylithionite, aegirine, reedmergnerite, microcline, leucosphenite, stillwellite-(Ce) and pectolite aggregates containing many cesium-bearing silicates occur. Genesis of these rocks is debatable; they are known only in lumps and never been found in contact with another rock. The present paper gives a version of the formation of these quartz rocks as a result of the solidification of aqua-silicate liquids which could be appeared due to an interaction between alkali fluids (provoked great fenitization) with tourmaline granites and other quartz-rich rocks.
